The new standard for modern 4WD builds — BEAST performance in a body that actually fits a current ute.

Bar space on a next-gen ute is tight, airflow to the radiator matters, and a 230 mm light does not always clear the bodywork. The BEAST 190 was built for exactly that problem: 80 mm deep, with a reversible mount that gives you options most lights this bright do not, and it still reaches 1 lux at 1,260 m.

Australian designed, tested and built, with 25 Osram LEDs behind a combination reflector and a daytime running light function built in. Photometric testing is NATA accredited, carried out independently by Photometric Solutions International — the beam figures are measured, not marketing.

Three modes, one switch

Each mode is a genuinely different beam, not a dimmer setting. Every shot below was taken on the same bush track, starting with the vehicle's own high beams for reference.

Spot — 1 lux at 1,195 m, 64 m wide

The long-distance mode. Open road and straight gravel, with all the energy down the centre.

Flood — 1 lux at 496 m, 129 m wide

Twice the width, and an impressive 160 degrees of peripheral vision. For winding roads, bush tracks, and dust or fog where reach is limited by the air rather than the light.

BEAST — 1 lux at 1,260 m, 142 m wide

Everything at once: the widest spread of the three and the longest reach. The mode you switch to when the road ahead matters.

How the switching works

Press the top of the switch to power on. The lower half toggles spot and flood. Hold it down for a second to drop into BEAST mode — all three without taking your eyes off the road.

Questions we get asked

190 or 230?
The 230 reaches further in spot — 1,497 m against 1,195 m for a pair. The 190 is lighter, 80 mm deep instead of considerably more, and actually has the higher output in BEAST mode (13,544 lm against 13,269 lm). On a modern ute where bar space and airflow are tight, the 190 is usually the better fit.

Is a wiring harness included?
No, and you do need one. We stock the universal BEAST harness plus ten vehicle-specific looms covering Hilux, Landcruiser 70 and 200 Series, D-MAX, BT-50 and MU-X.

Do I need the BEAST-specific harness?
Yes. The three switchable modes rely on it.

Is there a daytime running light mode?
Yes, DRL is built in.
